In particular, the IP practice desired to not be marketed in the somewhat staid way law marketing traditionally has been done, but to instead position the firm as the one top-of-mind for clients and recruits.

SocialProse led the development of Orrick IP’s new and audacious market positioning, devising a brand manual, ad and viral video campaigns, social media strategy and talking points for the practice that was well outside “the box.” The humorous approach used how Orrick attorneys were talking about the firm internally and turned it into external messaging that presented the practice — which boasts clients such as Facebook and Apple — as the kind of attorneys you want on your side of a copyright or patent fight.
